Local bakers are invited to take part in the Eye village Jubilee cake competition. With separate competitions for adults and children anyone can take part. The Leeds Hall will be open for public viewing, refreshments and craft stalls from 12pm.

10.30am – 11am: Cakes to arrive
11am – 12pm Judging
12pm – 3.30pm: Public viewing, craft stalls and refreshments
3.30pm: Prize giving
3.30pm – 4pm: Cakes to be collected.
- Victoria sponge (must be to the set recipe below)
- Six fruit scones.
- Six decorated homemade biscuits.

VICTORIA SPONGE RECIPE
- 200g caster sugar
- 200g softened butter
- 4 eggs beaten
- 200g self-raising flour
- 1tsp baking powder
- 2tbsp milk.
- 100g softened butter
- 140g icing sugar, sifted
- Drop of vanilla extract (Optional)
- Half 340g jar of quality strawberry jam icing sugar to decorate.
