A1139, Peterborough Road southbound to be closed for three weeks from 3/2/2020

The southbound lane of the A1139, Peterborough Road between the smaller roundabout at the entrance to the village and the Eye Roundabout close to Peterborough One Retail Park will be closed for three weeks from Monday 3 February 2020. These are essential works to replace the eight inch cast iron main with a modern 180mm plastic pipe to secure the villages supply for the future.

The High Street will be closed from the 17th February

Update 3/2/2020: Peterborough Highway Services have notified the Parish Council that the works planned for 10/2/2020 on High Street have been postponed due to the works that have started on Peterborough Road. These now take place during half-term week, 17 – 21 February 2020.

Update 14/2/2020: The A1139 has reopened ahead of schedule.

During the works traffic will be diverted westbound along the A47 and south along Paston Parkway. tRIIO who work in partnership with Cadent who manage parts of the gas network will be completing the work.

Please allow extra time for your journey as traffic on the A47 west bound and the Paston Parkway southbound will be higher than usual, especially during the morning rush hour.

Part of Eye High Street will be closed between 17th and 21st February 2020 for further works affecting the number 36 and 37 bus.
