ECOPS NEWS -
I wanted to let you know that you can now
contact Cambridgeshire Constabulary on 101 for all non-emergency calls.
The 0345 456 456 4 number will remain in use alongside 101 for several
months to allow people time to get used to the new number.
Since the New Year there have been
the following reported to the police, 3 bicycles have been
stolen in Eye, there have been 2 shed burglaries one in Eye
and another in Thorney and 2 thefts of diesel from vehicles
in Thorney.
There were two vehicles stolen in Eye Green within two days
of each other. Both have been recovered, a male was arrested
and charged with the theft of one of the vehicles and
enquiries continue regarding the second vehicle.
There have been reports of damage to taps and sheds broken
into on the allotments in Eye. Police patrols have paid
attention to this area and there have been no more reports.
Please pay particular attention to the security of your
sheds whether on the allotment or in your garden. We all
store expensive equipment in our sheds which are targeted by
thieves on a regular basis. Please invest in a close clasp
padlock and none return screws on hinges. It is also a good
idea to chain items together in the shed.
The next Neighbourhood Panel Meeting is to take place at the
Manor Community Centre, High Street Eye, on Wednesday 29th
February at 7.00pm This is your opportunity to influence
policing in your area and to bring to our attention issues
affecting the neighbourhood you live in.
Regards
Werrington Neighbourhood Policing Team.
